To all HobbyTechnik / Flapping Flight website surfers, customers, friends, etc...
I just discovered my webhosting service has some new nifty features and having a blog space on my website is one of them. The question is...is a blog a waste of time? I've never had a blog before and just about every other persons blog I've ever tried to read bored me to tears with their self absorbed gibberish, especially political blogs. I hope that won't be the case here.
I still have to ask myself if anyone will really be interested in reading my ramblings of the day or benefit from it. Maybe that's not the purpose of a blog though. I really don't know the purpose of a blog to be honest. I mean I already have a "What's New" column so how is a blog different? I dunno.
Maybe it's just an outlet for me to ramble about whatever. I type pretty fast these days so it won't be a huge waste of my time. But, maybe that would be better suited for a personal website which I should soon be building since I lead a double...triple..quadruple? life and have much to post. Few people know that I am a not just an inventor/designer/manufacturer of ornithopters, but also a seasoned professional drummer also dabbling in home music production. I'm also a family man with a wife and 4 year old son. I will be revealing these other aspects of myself ( the "fatman behind the myth"?)on another website in the near future. I'll have photos of myself and my music and drum equipment, audio and video clips of my playing, and whatever footage I have from nightclub gigs with various bands for anyone who's interested. But since this Blog here is specifically on my HobbyTechnik business website I suppose the subject matter on this blog should stay fairly focused on HobbyTechnik news and ornithopter/RC related topics in general so I will try to adhere to that and hopefully not bore everyone.
I'd actually have a lot more to talk about and share technically if I were not a manufacturer. I have some really cool new ideas and designs for ornithopters and I DO mean COOL. But being a manufacturer it's not like I can just share every new idea or design with the world but I'll do what I can. I'm actually extremely excited about some new, extremely large gas powered ornithopter designs which will pave the way towards a man-carrying machine but also be a great hobby product. - S
